There are 6 meanings to the word 'evolution':

1. Cosmic Evolution: the origin of time, space and matter, i.e. Big Bang.

So, everything in the universe was squished into a dot smaller than a period on a page. Now that is one crowded dot! And heavy too!
Textbooks go on to say that "after many billions of years, all the matter and energy will once again be packed into a small area. This area may be no larger than the period at the end of this sentence. Then another big bang will occur...a big bang may occur once every 80 to 100 billion years."
Now this is far from observable science. Can we see, study, test, and demonstrate this? Absolutely not! It is fine if someone believes this; however, it is not correct to call this view 'science' because it is not.
If our universe came from a ‘Big Bang’ matter would be evenly distributed. Why is the Sun 98% hydrogen and helium; but the other planets are less than 1% hydrogen and helium? And why are these plants so different from one another?

3. Stellar and Planetary Evolution: origin of stars and planets. No one has ever seen a star form. Scientists do not even have a clue how a star could form. The Bible says that the animals are going to bring forth after their ‘kind’. Charles Darwin wrote a book called The Origin of Species. A dog and a wolf are the same kind of animal, but they are different species. He fooled everybody by changing the word from ‘kind’ to ‘species’. The first 5 meanings of the word ‘evolution’ are purely religious: they are not scientific. We never observe any of those. So, if you want to win the debate on evolution: simply define what you are talking about. You will find that all evolutionists ever give are examples of number 6. Which, there is no argument about it. It happens. However, they then imply that this is somehow magically evidence for the other 5; and it is not.
2. Chemical Evolution: the origin of higher elements from hydrogen. According to the Big Bang theory, the Big Bang produced hydrogen and maybe some helium. Well then how do we get all of these other elements?
Should we believe that uranium evolved from hydrogen? The evolutionist will say yes because of fusion in stars. Well, you can’t fuse past iron very well. Also, you have a chicken and an egg problem because you have to have the stars to make the elements and the elements to make the stars. Which one came first?
There are not even any good theories about star formation. We see stars blow up all the time; it’s called a nova or a supernova. This happens all the time. However, we never see a star form. And still there are enough stars, that we know about, that everyone on planet earth could personally own 11,000,000,000,000 (11 trillion) stars to themselves. These are just the stars that we know about! There could be trillions more!

4. Organic Evolution: origin of life. Life has to get started from non-living material. Nobody has a clue how that could happen.
5. Macro-Evolution: changing from one kind into another. This is where an animal changes into another kind of animal. Did you know that nobody has ever seen a dog produce a non-dog? You may get a big dog or a little dog, but you are going to get a dog every time. It could be that the dog, the wolf, and the coyote had a common ancestor. They probably did, but every 5 year old kid knows they are the same kind of animal.

6. Micro-Evolution: Variations within kinds. Only this type of ‘evolution’ has been observed. Animals can produce a whole variety of offspring: long-haired, short-haired, long-legged, and short-legged. This happens.

In science class, science should be taught. Science is defined as what we can observe, study, test, and demonstrate. The first 5 meanings of the word ‘evolution’ are not scientific at all.
