Gay Marriage: What does the Bible say?
Hillary Clinton recently released a video announcing that she supports gay marriage. However, who cares what she thinks? Who cares what anybody thinks for that matter?
Our ultimate standard of authority is the Word of God. Let’s see what the Word of God has to say about this issue.
The Book of Genesis tells us, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” Genesis 2:24.
Mark Chapter 10:6-9 tells us, “But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.”
So the Bible tells us that at the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. As far as marriage is concerned, a man is to leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife. That is the biblical definition of marriage.
So what does the bible say about gay marriage?
“Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination” Leviticus 18:22.
“If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them” Leviticus 20:13.
According to the Bible, homosexuality is a sin. It is an abomination. It doesn’t matter what a person thinks or feels about it. The Word of God says that it is wrong.
Man’s opinion has taken the place of the Word of God in the United States. Instead of the Word of God having authority to tell us what is right and wrong, it is man’s opinion that decides what is right and wrong.
It is time that we as a country get back to the authority of the Word of God.
